Bereavement Support Meetings – McGovern Foundation

The need to implement a Peer Support Group was paramount after Edna Mae’s loss. We immediately plugged ourselves into a Grief Share Program with our church and it was really great to hear what they said about loss from a biblical point of view. We needed to not be angry at God for Em’s loss and we feel grateful for that group. Looking back, we both feel a peer support group for people that suffered the loss of a child would have been a tremendous help to our family.

The meetings will be a safe place for families, you will never be asked to speak unless you are comfortable. We welcome Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, and close friends of the family to join too. The meetings will be catered to adults, with families meetings happening twice per year.

The meetings will take place at Calypso Cove Pool located at 6200 Royal Palm Blvd. Margate, Fl. 33063.

The meetings will take place on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm, beginning September 15th at 6:30 pm (unfortunately, we do not allow children to attend these meetings. We feel to get the most out of these meetings, we need to keep the age of participation to 18 years of age or older).
